How to use the Argent Telegram Wallet

Meet the Argent Telegram Wallet

Telegram has one billion users. We're bringing them crypto. The Argent Telegram Wallet lets you send crypto to any Telegram user—even if they don’t have a wallet—and play crypto mini-apps. Get in early and get testing.

Key Features of the wallet:

• Send Money to anyone on Telegram: You can send crypto instantly to anyone on Telegram. They don’t even need to set up a wallet to receive funds.
• Zero onboarding: All you need is your Telegram username to create a wallet.
• Sign once with session keys: You’ll sign fewer transactions when playing mini-apps. Session keys significantly improve the user experience.
• Coming soon - Pay gas in any token: Pay transaction fees with USDC or any other token. Removing the need to hold ETH or STRK.

‍How to set up your Argent Telegram Wallet

We strongly recommend using your mobile phone. 

‍Create your Argent Telegram Wallet:

1. Open Telegram. In the Search bar at the top, type @theargentbot and select Argent Wallet.
2. In the Argent Wallet chat, type /start, then select Get Started.
3. Set your biometric (FaceID), and your wallet will be created.

Once you’ve created a wallet, you’ll need to fund it to send payments. Pin the Argent Wallet chat to find it easily.

Fund your Argent Telegram Wallet:

1. In the Argent Wallet chat, click the blue Wallet button in the bottom left corner.
2. Unlock your wallet, select Fund, choose From any Starknet wallet, and copy your address.
3. Open a funded Starknet wallet (such as Argent Mobile), click Send, paste your address, choose STRK as your token, choose how much STRK you want to send, review the transaction and click Send now. 

Your funds should arrive in your Argent Telegram wallet within a few seconds. 

On Argent Mobile, you can add your Argent Telegram Wallet address to your contacts to make it faster to fund your account next time.

Once your wallet is funded, you can start sending payments! Use Argent Wallet chat, or open the wallet and use the /send button.

Follow the instructions below to add the Argent Bot to a group chat. 

How to use Argent Bot in a group chat

‍Step 1: Add to group chat

‍For a new group:

1. Open Telegram and tap the square icon in the top right corner. 
2. Select New Group, add the @theargentbot and other group members, choose a name and click Create.
3. In the group chat, tap the top right, select Edit, select Administrators, select Add Admin, choose the Argent Wallet, and select Done.

‍For an existing group:

1. You must be an admin to add @theargentbot to a group chat. 
2. Go to a Telegram group chat, select Add Members, type @theargentbot in the search bar, and select Done.
3. In the group chat, tap the top right, select Edit, select Administrators, select Add Admin, choose the Argent Wallet, and select Done.

Once the Argent Bot is an admin on the group chat, you can send payments to other group members.

‍Step 2: Send payments in a group chat:

1. Type “@theargentbot send 1 STRK @”, select the group member you’d like to send a payment, and send the message.
2. Select the Argent Wallet notification at the top of the screen, then in the Argent Wallet chat select Confirm.
3. Unlock your wallet and confirm the transfer.

Done! Just like that, you can send money to anyone on Telegram. The next section will detail what each command does and how to use them. 

A breakdown of each command

Simple commands control the Argent Telegram Wallet. You can communicate directly with the Argent Wallet bot (in DM) or in a group chat. To chat directly with the Argent Wallet bot, open Telegram, search @theargentbot in the Search tab and select Argent Wallet.

‍Useful commands in the Argent Wallet chat:

/start - If you’ve not created a wallet yet, this is how you get started.

/help - If you need instructions or have questions, this will help explain. 

/send - If you want to send money to someone, type their username (beginning with @), select which token you want to send and how much, and then confirm the transaction.

/cancel - If you want to cancel a payment at any point before confirming, use this command.

‍Useful commands in a group chat:

@theargentbot - Use this command to send a payment in a group chat.

1. Type “@theargentbot send 1 STRK @___” and select the group member.
2. Tap the Argent Wallet notification.
3. Confirm the transfer in your wallet.

‍How to report a bug

We appreciate all feedback from the community, and as this is a new wallet, we expect some bugs will be discovered in the early days as you explore. This is how to report a bug.

1. Open Telegram and go to the Argent Wallet chat.
2. In the Argent Wallet chat, click the blue Wallet button in the bottom left corner, unlock your wallet, click the three dots in the top right corner, then select Settings. 
3. Select Contact support and describe the bug to our support team. Or, open the debug menu.
