The competition to build the best crypto card is heating up. From centralised exchanges to self-custody wallets, everyone wants the top spot.
But which crypto card truly stands out? We’ve analysed five leading options and compared them head-to-head. Let’s dig into the details.

Self-custody vs custodial
The Argent Metal Card, Argent Lite Card, and Gnosis Pay are fully self-custodial, which is better for security, as you control your private keys.
Holyheld is a hybrid. It’s a custodial card that works with a self-custodial wallet. You can top up the card account as you see fit. Bybit and Crypto.com’s cards are custodial. You rely on them to store your crypto for you.
Cashback
All crypto cards offer cashback to varying degrees. Both Gnosis Pay and Crypto.com require you to stake their native tokens, whereas Argent and Holyheld do not.
Argent Metal Card offers the highest cashback, 10%, in your first 30 days. After that, the cashback rate is reduced to 3%. You can earn $150 in cashback rewards every month. That's $1,800 in year one.
Fees
None of the crypto cards charge FX fees other than Bybit and Crypto.com. The Argent Metal Card does not charge gas, off-ramp, top-up, conversion, or ATM fees (up to $800/month). 1 USDC = $1.
Perks
Crypto.com, Bybit and the Argent Metal Card offer various perks. The Argent Metal Card includes free bridging with Layerswap, discounted eSIMs and VPNs with Airalo and NordVPN, and discounts on crypto analytics tools like Nansen and Koinly. More to come.
Native DeFi
The Argent Metal Card is linked to your Argent Mobile account. You can swap, stake, lend, and earn in DeFi protocols from the same account. This is a differentiator from all other cards, which require you to set up and top-up a separate account.
Top up flexibility
The Argent Metal Card, Crypto.com and Bybit don’t require you to use a separate account to top-up your card account, whereas Gnosis requires swapping into GBPe in that separate account.
Availability
Most cards are available in the UK and EEA. Gnosis Pay and Crypto.com offer additional jurisdictions. Argent is expanding to other regions in 2025.
Apple Pay/Google Pay
Apple Pay and Google Pay support will soon be available for Argent and Gnosis Pay. Holyheld and Crypto.com offer support today.
