How to fund Argent Mobile

Buy crypto directly on Argent

Buy crypto as easily as buying groceries. We’re being serious! You can use Ramp or Banxa on Argent to purchase crypto via Apple Pay, Google Pay, card payment or bank transfer. 

Open Argent, tap “Fund”, then tap “Buy crypto”, and follow the instructions.

Bridge from another blockchain

If you’re a cross-chain connoisseur, you can use StarkGate or Layerswap to bridge your assets to Starknet. Remember to bridge ETH or STRK first. You’ll need to use one as a gas token.

Here is the 10-step process to bridge to Argent from another blockchain:

1. Open Argent 
2. Tap “Fund” 
3. Select “From an exchange”
4. On Layerswap, tap “Source” and choose which blockchain you’d like to bridge from (for example, Ethereum).
5. Tap “Amount” to enter the amount you’d like to bridge (example: 1 ETH).
6. Tap “Connect a wallet” and connect the wallet you want to bridge from (for example, Metamask). You’ll need to do this on your wallet app of choice and then return to Layerswap. 
7. Once connected, return to Layerswap and tap “Swap now”
8. Tap “Confirm address” once you’re happy that the address is correct. Note: Argent auto-fills the address, but double-check for peace of mind.
9. Tap “Send from wallet” after you’ve reviewed the transaction. 
10. Confirm the transaction in the wallet you’re bridging from (for example, Metamask). Your funds will arrive in your Argent wallet shortly after.

Transfer from an exchange

Bought crypto elsewhere? No worries! Most major crypto exchanges support Starknet withdrawals. Simply follow your exchange's withdrawal instructions and copy/paste your Argent address when it asks for one. 

If your exchange does not support Starknet withdrawals, you can use Layerswap.

Here is how to transfer to Argent from an exchange that does not support Starknet deposits and withdrawals: 

1. Open Argent 
2. Tap “Fund” 
3. Select “From an exchange”
4. On Layerswap, tap “Source”, scroll down to the exchanges section, and choose which exchange you’d like to transfer from (for example, Coinbase).
5. Tap “Withdrawal network” and select a network (for example, Base).
6. Tap “Amount” to enter the amount you’d like to transfer (example: 1 ETH).
7. Tap “Swap now” 
8. Tap “Confirm address” once you’re happy that the address is correct. Note: Argent auto-fills the address, but double-check for peace of mind.
9. Tap “OK” to reveal the deposit address. 
10. Copy the deposit address. 
11. Open your exchange app, select withdraw Ethereum (ETH) and paste the deposit address. 
12. Select the network (for example, Base). Ensure it is the same withdrawal network you selected on Layerswap. 
13. Select the amount of ETH you want to send (example: 1 ETH).
14. If it asks “Where are you sending your ETH?” select “Self-custody wallet”.
15. If it asks “Who are you sending to?” enter Layerswap under “Recipient full name” and United States as “Recipient country of residence” 
16. Tap “Send Now” 
17. Your funds will arrive in Argent shortly. You can check Layerswap to see the progress of your transaction.

Transfer from another Starknet wallet

Already using a Starknet wallet? Simply transfer from another Starknet wallet for less than $0.01 in seconds.

Follow these steps: 

1. Open Argent
2. Tap “Fund”
3. Tap “View your wallet address”
4. Copy your wallet address 
5. Open the Starknet wallet your want to send from (example: Argent X) 
6. Click “Send”
7. Paste your wallet address
8. Select the currency and amount you want to send, then click “Review send”
9. Click “Confirm”
10. Your funds will arrive in Argent shortly after. You’ll receive a notification on your phone when they do.

Gifting

Our newest way to onboard is to have an existing Argent user send you a gift, which you can then claim on Argent. 

Have the existing Argent user follow these steps: 

1. Go to gift.argent.xyz
2. Choose a gift design 
3. Choose an amount to gift 
4. Choose the gift currency (ETH or STRK)
5. Connect wallet 
6. Click “Create gift” 
7. Confirm the transaction in Argent 
8. The gift will be create 
9. Copy the URL and send it to the friend you want to onboard 
10. When they click the link, they’ll be prompted to download Argent. When they have set up their account, the gift will be waiting for them in their wallet.

Congratulations! Your Argent Mobile wallet is funded and ready to go.

Now that you’re set up, you can start swapping, staking, exploring DeFi and connecting to dapps with the in-app browser.
